In distinction with my previous works already dealing with multiple presences coexisting throughout seemingly single subject, with this work my aim was to find ways to reveal and generate multiple presences, multiple voices in/of audience members/participants by creating a permeable medium. This permeable medium is called a Permeable Machine, setting-up a game situation using different tools being a textual media, such as voice recording or prompted text to be uttered, experienced, performed, animated, realized by participants of a performance event, transforming them into very owners and performers of the performance at that very moment.

This is an expansion of ‘performance’.

This is a work where audience members eventually become the very performers and authors of a performance. Initially the audience members enter a space, the host of the event/festival/venue introduces the evening. She/he places the ‘paper device’ of the work on the table (a written text) where eventually one audience member will pick it up or hand it to someone else. The written text’s subjectivity overlaps with the utterer’s subjectivity and gradually the audience members are drawn in a ‘Permeable Machine’, a co-dependent enviroment to perform. There is no instruction or skill requirement hence each spectator cannot escape to become the very performers and authors of this machine. There is no other professional involved during the performance (such as dancers-performers).
